Amirah AbuLughod is a resident of Stony Point Center’s (SPC) multi-faith intentional community and a member of the Muslim cohort. She is a follower of the Jafari school of thought within Islam; a Muslim of the Shia sect. She graduated with a degree in Environmental Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her interests in people, place and how the two interact and her love of working with the earth brought her to pursue the farm apprenticeship at SPC. Amirah spends her days learning the ins and outs of small-scale farming, furthering her Islamic knowledge through study sessions within the community, course work outside the community and spending the daylight hours out in Allah’s creation.
